Materials:

  • Yarn Bee Velvety Smooth Yarn (Size 5 yarn)
  • Polyester Fiberfill
  • Stitch Markers
  • 25mm Crochet Hook
  • Yarn Needle (to close and attach button)

Abbreviations:

  • MR: Magic Ring
  • INC: Increase
  • DEC: Decrease
  • SC: Single Crochet
  • SL ST: Slip Stitch
  • CH: Chain
  • *Repeat pattern in between asterisks until the end of the round*

Ball:

Start with Red Yarn

  • R1: Make MR, CH 1, 12 SC in MR, SL ST into first ST (12)
  • R2: *SC INC* (Place marker in first stitch after SC then INC) (18)
  • R3: *INC 3 SC* (30)
  • R4: *SC* (30)
  • R5: *SC* (30)

Switch to Black Yarn

  • R6: *SC* (30)

 Switch to White Yarn

  • R7: *SC* (30)
  • R8: *3 SC DEC* (24)
  • R9: *2 SC DEC* (18)
  • R10: *SC DEC* (12)
  • Stitch closed with a needle

 

Button:

Start with white Yarn

  • R1: Make MR, CH 1, 2 SC in MR, SL ST into first ST (2)

 Switch to Black Yarn

  • R2: *INC*, SL ST into first stitch and end (4)
  • Stitch the button onto the ball with a needle

 

Red Strip(x2):

Start with red Yarn

  • R1: CH 9, Ch 1 (Turning Stitch) (10)
  • R2: *SC*, SL ST into first stitch and end (10)
  • Stitch the red strips onto the ball with a needle
